Car Rentals in Stockholm, Sweden

Recently, I have sold my car and bought another car after 4 months. During these 4 months, I had to rent a car for trips and local visits. I have come across various sites, hence compiled the list here. Click on the company name to navigate to respective website.

Snappcar - Similar to Airbnb sharing apartments/houses, Snappcar is to rent personal cars when they are not used by owners. I found it very convenient. Try to choose based on the area you live so that it is easy to pick up the car and drop once used.
Mobile app is really good and handy. Prices were affordable.

GoMore - Similar to Snappcar but found it was little expensive comparatively, similar features.

Hertz - It is very popular choise among Europe countries and has wide variety options, has around 23 locations within Stockholm for pick up and drop of rental cars. Best option I found was unlimited kms.

Sixt - Similar to Hertz, Sixt offers the car for rental across Europe.

Europcar - I have not used their services but seem to be good and as name says, their services are available across Europe.

KINTO Share - If you are looking Toyota or Lexus brand cars to hire, you can look for them here.

M (Volvo Cars) - If you are looking for Volvo cars to hire, you can find them here.

Circle K - Affordable, easily bookable in person but difficult to find them available during peek periods

OKQ8 - Similar to Cirkle K, OKQ8 also offers affordable rental cars, bookable online as well.

Aimo Share -  Stockholm's first electric car share, has numerous pricing options to choose.

Kayak - Kayak offers car rental, flights and hotel booking as well. Sometimes there are very good discounts and they search cars across providers such as Hertiz, Sixt etc. I found it was very useful.

Ensure to check following before you book

1. Engine Transmission - Manual / Automatic
2. Fuel
3. Insurance
4. Rent per day (some providers charge per hour)
5. Kilometer or Miles allowed free and additional charges for extra kms
6. Cancellation Policy
7. Check Car allowed to drive outside country (if you plan to go abroad).
8. Cleaning conditions
9. Take pictures before and after use
10. Provide right identity details so that no hassle with automatic machines that give car keys at kiosks

HAPPY DRIVING

Feel free to share the constructive feedback and let us know, if we miss any other car rental providers.

Can we rent a car with Swedish Drving licence (less than one year old) or it needs to atleast 1 or 2 years old?

There are many more rental companies at arlanda, like Avis, Enterprise, Budget, Alamo and Green Motions. Most of car companies has outlet in car showroom, like if you prefer Audi, Europcar Kista will always give you Audi and Sixt Kista will always give you Mercedes.

One can compare prices and offers using rentalcars.com and then can directly book with rental companies sites.

You can easily find car with circleK at peak times if you search at some areas like Ekero or Sollentuna etc. Most of the car companies does not have any availability lile in july mid or so. Also good to know that Circlek does not have full insurance with zero laibility. The minimun you need to pay is 3k in worst scenario.
